It isn’t the Delta hub at ATL. Write the airport designator backwards and you get LTA. No, not Tzaneen in South Africa, I mean the real LTA. The L in Ko Lanta for “Laid Back”. For our final three days of this splendid sunny trip, we spent our daylight hours traveling charming and chillax Ko Lanta by motorbike and longboat. Those transportation methods are the best ways to get around this island paradise.
You can’t complain about the tables out here. Okay. Maybe a little too much sand.
Thai food. You just can’t get enough….
Longboat is the only way to roll…

Steer it well Captain.
It is time for a swim.
This remote little island used to be a storage area for pirates way back before TSA was doing screening for flights. Like hundreds of years ago. Pretty cool island. You swim through a very dark cave (which is the only way through at cooperating tide level times) and get to this beautiful little enclosed beach that used to be a volcano millions of years ago. Now it is tourist attraction and I’m not disclosing where it is at.
Go ducklings! GO!
A little alone time in the jungle in the middle of the volcano is healthy…
Duckling commune compound discovered.
Muddy waters… Just saying.
“I’m king of this little beach!” ???? No…Leo no Leo no!
Beauty is everywhere… but especially right here:
It is time to set sail…
…because we are hungry.
Amazing steak at this fine establishment called… Never Mind. no no no. I’m not telling. Discover for yourself. If you are on Ko Lanta, you must go. Don’t bother going anywhere else.
Chocolate break please!
Rock and Roll Pad Thai is the place to go on Ko Lanta for the best pad thai. Chef is the nicest guy, in a rock band has played all over Thailand and beyond. It was fun watching him cook.
One for her, one for me.
The vast amount of unique ingredients they use in Thailand combine so vividly, each dish is a culinary journey. It was too good so we ordered a second round of pad thai.
I’d say it is an okay spot.
Keep aware of your surroundings. Remain vigilant.
